Robert Eggers’ return to the big screen was met with so-so reaction. For me, “The Northman” was a visual spectacle; a revenge feast for the eyes. I loved the setting of this piece, and the approach to such a vicious tale. Sure, it’s basically a more adult version of “The Lion King,” but boy were there moments that sent chills down my spine. The performances encaptured the artistic vision that only Eggers could produce, and I believe it is a different yet awesome follow-up to his former picture, “The Lighthouse.”
