FRIDAY NIGHT/MOVIE THEATER REVIEW: Friday night I got to see a movie that I was anticipating called “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” which stars Chris Evans (Fantastic Four, The Avengers), Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, The Incredibles), Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation, The Prestige), Robert Redford (All is Lost, Out of Africa), Sebastian Stan (Black Swan, Rachel Getting Married), Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker, Real Steel), Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, Delivery Man), Emily VanCamp (Revenge, Everwood), and Stan Lee (Iron Man, Spider-Man). Steve Rogers (Evans) is back in this sequel to his first movie, “Captain America: The First Avenger” as well as the ninth movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, etc.). After a mission of obtaining top-secret information on a freighter the is full of S.H.I.E.L.D.-working hostages, Captain America comes back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters to hand it over to Nick Fury (Jackson). Once Nick Fury gets a hold of it though and tries to decrypt the password that was authorized actually by himself, he finds himself getting shot by police and a new scary figure appears: the Winter Soldier (Stan). After fighting off everyone and escaping barely alive, Fury heads to Rogers’s apartment to warn him not to trust anyone and that S.H.I.E.L.D. is compromised which is soon found out to by Hydra’s doing all along. Now it is up to Captain America, Black Widow (Johansson), and new-comer Falcon (Mackie) to take down Hydra/S.H.I.E.L.D. before they kill millions of innocent people. I absolutely enjoyed this movie, having watched it in 3D, with the story line being great, the acting good, and the visual effects top-notch having action just about every minute of the film. It definitely makes a name of itself and I recommend anyone to watch it. The cons of this movie are that it is kinda long reaching almost 3 hours long and another con is that I forgot to watch the special scenes in the credits that link to the next Avengers movie which was a bummer. FINAL SCORE: 96%= Juicy Popcorn
This movie has been inducted into The Juicy Hall of Fame.
Changes have been made to this review after The Juicy Awards of 2014. They do not effect the results of what has previously been punched in for Movie of the Year.
