FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE REVIEW: Well, Friday night I got to see a movie that has gotten a lot of hype and even won two Oscars. This movie is called “Frozen” which stars Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Veronica Mars), Idina Menzel (Enchanted, Beowulf), Jonathan Groff (C.O.G., The Conspirator), Josh Gad (Steve Jobs, Love & Other Drugs), Santino Fontana (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Jersey Shore Gone Wilde), Alan Tudyk (Serenity, Wreck-It Ralph), and Ciaran Hinds (The Woman in Black, Munich). The movie is about two royal sisters named Anna (Bell) and Elsa (Menzel) who were best friends when children until Elsa accidently hurt Anna with her winter powers that she was born with. The king and queen took Anna to trolls that heal her, but they take away her memory of Elsa having powers. After that, the king and queen have to keep Elsa away from people so that she doesn’t hurt anyone. Elsa has stayed in her room for the rest of her life after that until the king and queen died on a boating incident, sending Elsa to be promoted to queen of the kingdom. At the banquet though, she gets discovered of her powers and gets hated on so she heads into the mountains making her own ice fortress. Letting her powers run free though, she creates an eternal winter over the kingdom. Now it is up the Anna and Kristoff (Groff), a guy she met on the way, to get Elsa back and to bring warm back to the kingdom. I was rather disappointed of the movie. With all the talk and praise that this movie got, I had high hopes and high expectations of this movie. While watching it though, I couldn’t help thinking that things were missing. The plot had a lot of holes in it and it felt like they were just throwing stuff in as they went along and the only parts they really focused on were the songs. I also thought that there were way too many songs in this movie, but then again I didn’t think that they would really sing a lot in the movie (the only song I did like was “Let it Go”). I did like the animation though and the acting was good too. The movie is okay, but it definitely doesn’t deserve all the praise and respect it got in the first place. FINAL SCORE: 65%= Burnt Popcorn
