3RD PLACE
The moment I found out Matt Reeves was directing a Batman feature, I was stoked. Tack on Robert Pattinson, who has been joining a lot of amazing projects as of late, and you’ve got yourself a sure-fire epic. Clocking in over three hours, “The Batman” is a sight to behold. The cinematography is simply phenomenal, showcasing a Gotham akin to the comics; it’s dark, gritty, and teeming with drama. I enjoyed Pattinson’s take on the caped crusader, and Paul Dano’s turn of the Riddler was fantastic. There’s so much to take in with this mamoth of a flick. It has its slow parts, and the relationship between Catwoman and Batman isn’t the most believable, but other than that, this is a cinematic achievement. Definitely worth checking out.
It’s all come down to this. Who will it be? Spielberg’s “The Fabelmans” or Disney’s “Tarzan”?
