“Forrest Gump”

BONUS MOVIE REVIEW: “Mamma always said ‘life’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.'” I have never fully watched this movie (people are shocked by it), but it is mostly because it rarely comes on and I’ve only been able to bits and pieces of this movie. But now I have watched it and that movie is “Forrest Gump.” This movie stars Tom Hanks (Captain Phillips, The Green Mile), Sally Field (Mrs. Doubtfire, Lincoln), Robin Wright (The Princess Bride, House of Cards), Gary Sinise (CSI: NY, Apollo 13), and is directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Cast Away). The movie opens with a low I.Q. man named Forrest Gump who sits on a bench waiting for a bus to arrive. As he waits, people start to sit on the bench that he is on. Being the friendly guy Forrest is, he starts to tell the people the story of his life, with having the people get off the bench to get on their bus and new people coming to sit on the bench next to him to wait for their bus. Forrest’s life is quite an extraordinary one, with his meeting Elvis Presley, going to war in Vietnam, falling in love with his best friend since school Jenny, co-creating the Bubba-Gump Shrimp Company, running for three years straight for no reason, etc. I thought this movie was magnificent! The acting was superb, the story was fantastic, the action scenes were great, it was funny, and it was a very heart-warming experience. I give props to the director and cast for making such a great film. The only con I can find in this movie is that it is a bit too long. Other than that this movie is awe-inspiring and I recommend anyone who hasn’t seen it to watch it and whoever has to see it again! FINAL SCORE: 97%= Juicy Popcorn

This movie has been inducted into The Juicy Hall of Fame.
