FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE REVIEW: Last night I got to see the movie “Pleasantville” which stars Tobey Maguire (Spider-man trilogy, The Great Gatsby), Jeff Daniels (Dumb & Dumber, The Newsroom), William H. Macy (Wild Hogs, Fargo), Don Knotts (Andy Griffith Show, Threes Company), Joan Allen (Bourne Supremacy, Hatchi: A Dogs Tale), J.T. Walsh (A Few Good Men, The Negotiator), and Reese Witherspoon (Four Christmases, Legally Blonde). When 90’s teens David (Maguire) and Jennifer (Witherspoon) break the TV remote from fighting over it, a “TV repair man” (Knotts) comes out of nowhere and gives them a brand new remote that somehow transports the teens into the 50’s TV show Pleasantville. While there, they have to act like the TV shows main characters Bud and Mary-Sue Parker. David tells his sister to act like they would in the TV show to get out of it, but Jennifer has other ideas. After Jennifer exposes reality things that aren’t even thought of in Pleasantville, Pleasantville starts changing with books actually having words in them to the black-and-white people turning different colors making it chaos. I really liked the originality of the story and the way they show color TV mixed in with black-and-white TV. I recommend this movie to anyone! FINAL SCORE: 86%= Juicy Popcorn
