9TH PLACE
It’s not often a sequel finds its way into the Movie of the Year running. “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” is simply fun. Highly entertaining and equally riveting, it capitalizes on the sucessful chemistry between leads Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law and crafts a journey that I believe to be superior to the first outing. The effects are better, set pieces grander, and music all the more enjoyable (thank you, Hans Zimmer); not to mention that the villain Professor Moriarty is dealt with in this feature. That’s a big plus.
