June Movie Rankings

2022 JUNE MOVIE RANKINGS

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. It didn’t take long to revert back to my old ways, but trying to watch/review around 18 movies a month just wasn’t sustainable.

Needless to say, June was a wild, sporadic, hectic, hellish month personally (as quite a bit of months this year are). It was littered with vacations, a wedding, a trip to Atlanta (making big moves), and many shifts at Regal.

For those who follow my site, I apologize for the delay of things. I recently got the Covid virus again, so at least I have no reason to do anything else but type reviews…

#3- “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”
85%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Funny, full of iconic moments/bits, wildly entertaining, and pretty timeless.
Cons: The ending downright irked me.

#2- “Top Gun: Maverick”
88%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Fantastic aerial cinematography, solid performances, Tom Cruise is back, and it’s a wonderfully made movie all-around.
Cons: Fairly predictable and the narrative doesn’t take many risks.

#1- “Singin’ in the Rain”
91%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Brilliantly choreographed, funny, visually striking, wonderful performances, and a story that will appeal to any film history buff or lover of the film industry.
Cons: There were some lulls, but other than that… not much.

“Singin’ in the Rain” is now added to the Movie of the Year nominee list, running alongside “The Princess Bride,” “Luca,” “The Batman” (2022), “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “The Northman,” and “The Karate Kid.” We’ll have to see who takes July…
