IN THE DIRECTOR’S CHAIR
It’s been far too long since we’ve had a director’s marathon (about a year), so why not return with one of the most prolific filmmakers still working today: Clint Eastwood. The western actor turned director has had a lengthy career, spanning over sixty years (goodness gracious) and over eighty titles to his name.
I got to know him through Sergio Leone’s spaghetti westerns. From there, I’ve seen quite a few of his projects, both with him in front and behind the camera. And while the work I’ve seen with him as a director hasn’t excited me too much (I have not watched much, mainly his latest releases), I am eager to analyze his most highly-acclaimed pieces of cinema.
This marathon will take place from July 5th, 2021 to July 8th, 2021.
Here are the titles:
Day One – “Unforgiven” (1992)
Day Two – “Mystic River”
Day Three – “Million Dollar Baby” (2004)
Day Four – “Letters from Iwo Jima”
