BEST ACTOR WINNER:
I didn’t release the winner of this category yesterday because… well, I didn’t know who it was. The decision process was a difficult one, narrowing the nominees down to a tight two-person race (I won’t say who was the close second to this award). Ultimately, Colin Firth won out for “The King’s Speech,” playing a role that I grew fond of and fascinated in. It’s easy to give the award to someone who portrays a person with a handicap, but Firth did so much more with the character of King George VI besides the stutter. If you haven’t seen “The King’s Speech,” please do. Firth does not disappoint.
