2020 FEBRUARY MOVIE RANKINGS:

There’s a first for everything on this site. We’ve had the first month where only one film was ranked, and the first month where two films tied for first. But now we have a month where there is no winner… technically. Based on the rules stated by my own site, if a film gets over 95% and has not been reviewed in the year it was made, it cannot contend for Movie of the Year. However, I only reviewed Jojo Rabbit and Parasite, both films receiving the same score (a 96%) and being made a year prior to reviewing it. Oh boy. What do I do? Stick to the rules, or declare a winner? In respect to the other films rated above that marker, I shouldn’t pick a winner… but then again… what am I to do with this rankings?

Well, every dog must have their day.

#1- “Parasite”
96%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Fresh concept, great cinematography, solid performances, and a beautiful theme.
Cons: It isn’t perfect (yes, I’m using that excuse).

#1- “Jojo Rabbit”
96%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Witty style, fantastic cinematography, great performances, awesome writing, genuine, and funny.
Cons: Ditto to “Parasite” (sorry, not sorry).

These two Juicy Hall of Fame inductees will go up against “1917” and the rest of the Movie of the Month winners to decide what film will be the next Movie of the Year!
