November Movie Rankings

December has been a wild ride, ladies and gentlemen. Essentially, my month has consisted of acting, directing, and participating in quite a few short films, all the while turning in assignments and keeping appearances (social life, am I right?). It seems to me that it is getting more and more difficult to run this site, but we’ve had this discussion before… apologies for the lateness of this post (and its lack of films). Wait until I start dropping reviews for December; hopefully it’s nuts.

#2- “For Ellen”
61%= Burnt Popcorn
Pros: Interesting story, solid acting work from Dano, and the scenes exchanged between him and his daughter are great.
Cons: Predictable, often underwhelming, and doesn’t amount to much.

#1- “The Lighthouse” (2019)
94%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Fantastic cinematography, engaging dialogue, flat-out amazing performances, and a fresh piece of cinema all around.
Cons: The last shot left a bad taste in my mouth.

Without much competition, “The Lighthouse” takes the win, and will compete against “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “Green Book,” “First Man,” “The Pilgrim’s Progress,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Toy Story 4,” “A Few Good Men,” “Django Unchained,” “The Limey,” “El Camino,” and December’s winner to decide which flick will be crowned Movie of the Year.
