BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS WINNER:

This was a tough match-up, but I had to give it to Laurie Metcalf for her role as Marion McPherson in “Lady Bird.” She was harsh, unforgiving, and downright stubborn in her part, and she played it off so well. To be a misunderstood villain, only to break down in the end was done exceptionally by her, and she was certainly deserving of the accolades she received for her performance.
