2nd Place:

“Close Encounters of the Third Kind” is yet another classic Steven Spielberg film, filled with cinematic wonder and fantastical storytelling. The performances were great, the visual effects (while outdated) looked interesting, and the cinematography was immaculate. It’s not my favorite of Spielberg’s, but it put up one heck of a fight last year. I enjoyed watching it and seeing how it inspired other filmmakers to make sci-fi.
