“Transformes: Dark of the Moon”

BONUS MOVIE REVIEW: It’s been a while since I reviewed the second Transformers movie and I meant to finish reviewing them before the new one came out, but I didn’t have time to. But now I have re-watched this one and I am ready to review it! The third movie in the franchise stars Shia LaBeouf (Lawless, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (The Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show, Mad Max: Fury Road), Josh Duhamel (Las Vegas, Safe Haven), John Turturro (Burton Fink, Cars 2), Tyrese Gibson (Legion, 2 Fast 2 Furious), Patrick Dempsey (Enchanted, Grey’s Anatomy), Frances McDormand (Fargo, Something’s Gotta Give), John Malkovich (Warm Bodies, Secretariat), Kevin Dunn (Warrior, Veep), Julie White (Michael Clayton, Lincoln), Alan Tudyk (I, Robot, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story), Ken Jeong (The Hangover, Community), Glenn Morshower (X-Men: First Class, Moneyball), and Lester Speight (Norbit, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay). In this movie, Sam Witwicky (LaBeouf) is finally starting a normal life. He has a new girlfriend now named Carly (Huntington-Whiteley) after Mikaela broke up with him. Since the government doesn’t need him anymore, he is trying to find a new job and has so far been unlucky. Sam wishes he could fight with the Autobots again because it made him feel important instead of no one knowing what he did for them when he goes to job interviews. Then something comes up. At his new work office, a creepy co-worker named Jerry Wang (Jeong) gives him information on a classified assignment that NASA sent astronauts on when the first voyage up to the moon happened. The objective was to look in the wreckage of a ship that crashed on the moon long ago. This ship was from Cybertron and it contains one of the most smartest Autobots and his weapons that could have won the Autobots the war on Cybertron. With this weapon, the Decepticons want to steal it to launch it into space and rebuild Cybertron on Earth. After Jerry left, he was killed by a Decepticon right in the office, plunging Sam to join forces with the Autobots again to stop Megatron once and for all. This movie was a lot better than the second Transformer movie, with a good story, good acting, great special effects and action scenes, and it was a good sign off to the Sam Witwicky arc in the Transformers movies. Cons of this movie would be that it was a bit long being almost three hours and the ending felt like it was cut short with Optimus Prime’s final words. He usually gives a speech showing how everything will be going on, but instead said like three short sentences. Other than that the movie was rather good and anyone should see it. FINAL SCORE: 83%= Juicy Popcorn
