FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE REVIEW: Tonight, I got to see the movie “The Way Way Back” which stars Steve Carell (The Office, Get Smart), Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine, The Sixth Sense), Allison Janney (Finding Nemo, Juno), AnnaSophia Robb (Bridge to Terabithia, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Sam Rockwell (The Green Mile, Moon), Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids, Gattaca), Liam James (2012, Psych), Rob Corddry (Warm Bodies, What Happens in Vegas), and Amanda Peet (2012, Something’s Gotta Give). This movie is about a fourteen-year-old boy named Duncan (James) who goes on a summer vacation with his mom Pam (Collette), her jerk of a boyfriend (Carell), and his daughter. He has no desire to be there and hates every aspect of it especially having to bear with his mom’s boyfriend. Out of this awful vacation though, he stumbles upon a water park called Water Wizz in which he makes friends with an employee named Owen (Rockwell) and becomes an employee himself there. At the water park, he has some of the best times in his life and makes him want to stay there because it seems to be the only home he has. Things get out of hand though with his mom and her boyfriend making a lot of problems. I thought this movie had a great story to it. The acting was really good, props going out to Steve Carell for being so jerky that I wanted to punch him in the face, and the movie ran along very well making it a cool, warm movie to watch! It makes me feel sad though to watch what Duncan has to go through though because he has a very tough, difficult, and sad life. Overall it was a fun movie to watch and I would recommend anyone to see it! FINAL SCORE: 87%= Juicy Popcorn
