8TH PLACE:

The Coen brothers tackled noir with “The Man Who Wasn’t There,” a beautifully shot, terrifically acted film that works on all levels. It was a treat to watch unfold, culminating to a rather depressing conclusion. And while it certainly fought a good fight, it does not move on in this competition.
