BEST VISUAL EFFECTS WINNER:

When “1917” won the Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects, I was shocked. Then I found out just how much visual effects work went into the movie. Watching it, I didn’t suspect really any; I figured that most of what was captured was practical. But boy was I wrong. This award goes to the film that utilized visual effects in the best of ways: by making it unnoticeable.
